Figures describe image resolution in good conditions — how sharp the picture is — not positional survey accuracy.
The camera resolves millimetre-scale detail up close and centimetre-scale detail across a whole site. That's image detail — how much you can see — and it's what makes week-to-week comparisons, close-up checks and indicative volumes genuinely useful for running a site.
It is not survey-grade positional accuracy. We don't fly RTK-corrected survey equipment or set ground control points, and we don't replace your setting-out engineer or a chartered surveyor. Where a measured survey, certified inspection or engineering sign-off is required, you still need the qualified professional — our documentation just gives them, and you, a much better starting point.

AIRB provides visual progress documentation, indicative volume estimates and decision-support media. This is not a measured survey and not a substitute for a qualified structural survey, engineering inspection or any regulated safety sign-off.

Every AIRB Enterprise flight is subject to weather, airspace, site access, landowner permissions and a safety review before it goes ahead. We may decline or reschedule work where safe and legal operation is not possible.

FAQ
Questions site managers actually ask
How accurate are the volume figures?
They're indicative estimates built from a repeatable photogrammetry method — consistent enough to track week-to-week change and support ordering decisions. They are not a measured survey: where you need survey-grade numbers for contractual or engineering purposes, use a chartered surveyor. Plenty of clients use both — our cadence for tracking, a surveyor at the formal milestones.
Will flights disrupt work on site?
No. Flights are planned with your site manager, launched from an agreed safe position, and a typical monitoring visit is on site for well under an hour. Work carries on as normal.
Are you actually allowed to fly over a construction site?
We operate under a CAA Operator ID with commercial insurance, and every job gets an airspace check, a site risk assessment and a go / no-go decision on the day. Some locations need extra permissions — that's exactly what the feasibility review is for.
How often should we fly?
Weekly or fortnightly suits fast-moving phases like earthworks and frame; monthly suits steadier fit-out stages. One-off visits work for milestones, disputes or a pre-start condition record. We'll recommend a cadence in the feasibility review, and you can change it at any time.
How quickly do we get the data?
Maps, volumes and media are processed, human-reviewed and delivered to your portal usually within a few working days of the flight. If you need a faster turnaround for a programme meeting, tell us when we schedule the visit.
What does it cost?
Pricing is per site and per cadence — a compact site on a monthly cycle costs less than a large site flown weekly. Send the site details through the assessment form and you'll get a clear scope and price back, not a call from a sales team.
